Kathleen Clarke hosted a birthday party with many friends on Friday night. J W Clarke and Ellerington attended the 50th Jubilee session at the I C C F Grand Lodge in Winnipeg last week. The Anglican Y I A held a social evening with games and a lunch. John Wythe shows his bull Debenham Faultless at Brandon Fair this week. W J F Strachan displays grain and won prizes for Early Oats flax Brome Sheaves of Oat Barley Alsike Clover Alfalfa Sweet Clover.

Local whist drive and mixed bonspiel shine at Miniota events
The Horseshoe Club held a successful whist drive and dance at Miniota Hall with thirty tables and prizes for ladies won by Mrs. A McKean and Mrs H Gibbon and for gents by A Spencer and Chris Ellerington. Dancing followed to music by Jack Cook and Fred Bryant. A ratepayers meeting discussed electric lighting with a proposed $25 minimum per light year and night-time dimming to reduce costs. The mixed bonspiel concluded with multiple event winners including W Prentiss and Rink, A Kerr and others, and Grand Aggregate prizes of four electric table lamps going to W Prentiss rink.
