Mrs Rey Leland and the Local and General Cor meet at Harmoota hospital births and anniversaries noted. Oliver couple welcome a son. Winnipeg resident Mrs L Conway marked 90th birthday. WMS WA gathering at Mrs Lean’s home with reports on education, penal reform, and civic topics. Civic groups, school visits, CGIT crafts meetings, and bonspiel results across multiple towns noted.
A son was born to Mr and Mrs G W Jamieson at Grand View Hospital on March 6. Anna Hill is noted in the family announcement. Mr and Mrs J Wiggins attended the funeral in Virden on Thursday for the late Mrs Lane. Six rinks competed in a Miniota bonspiel led by J Bonner and others. Wes Roy Vernon and Russell Leland bought the old Western Canada elevator from the Federal Grain Co and plan demolition and removal.
The 4-H club hosted a Family Night on March 5 with a talk and films about a Iowa trip by Dick Heapy of Oak River. M Deveson presented additional 4-H related films. Dancing was enjoyed by attendees.
Farmers and poultrymen are advised to place orders for baby chicks and turkey poults to ensure early delivery. Information on prices breeds and hatching dates is available by phone at 3514 or in person at Manitoba Dairy and Poultry Coop Ltd in Miniota Man.
Isabelle J Joyce Adams transfers from Bank of Montreal Winnipeg to Windsor Ontario starting March 2.
