Mrs Campbell celebrated a birthday at Rivers with her son in law daughter and fourteen grandchildren present except Mrs Egilsson of Woodstock Ontario. Visitors included Miss Edith Gunson Rivers and several relatives from Winnipeg Brandon Elphinstone Kenton and Peace River Alberta. An old time quilting bee drew eight to ninety year olds. Mrs Hill and grandchildren hosted visits by Stan Gould and others, while many relatives called on Mrs Gardham Mrs Mansell and Mrs Robertson. Curling bonspiels kept Mrs Robertson busy with games.

Manitoba Plans Provincial Sweepstakes Bill
Manitoba intends to introduce a provincial sweepstakes bill in the next session. Attorney General Al Mackling says the plan, run by the Attorney General’s Department, would allocate a substantial portion of gross receipts to non profit charities. He notes funds would also support department revenue and community projects, with a view to making the lottery an annual affair.
