Manitobans may call their MLAs toll free via Zenith numbers starting June 23 for a 90 day trial. Each MLA provides a number to Manitoba Telephone System. constituents dial Zenith 3 7800 and the operator connects toll free to the MLA’s designated line. The province will absorb costs and a post-trial report will assess usage, cost, acceptance, and suitability.

Manitoba to Raise Marriage Licence Fee to Ten Dollars
Health minister Laurent Desjardins announced Manitoba will hike the marriage licence fee from five to ten dollars effective July 1. The increase, the first since 1923, aligns Manitoba with five other provinces and distributes seven dollars to the province and three to private issuers when applicable.
