Memorial Service in Minioc Sunday at 3 PM

Return of Phil Knowles From Wawanesa Visit

Phil Knowles arrived Saturday after visiting his sister in Wawanesa. He had attended the Grand Lodge Convention of the Sons of England in Brandon. A. Hanford and his daughter Mrs Mills of Vancouver, who stayed three weeks with Mr and Mrs Lindsay, left for home last week.

Manitoba Legion delegates attend 11th provincial convention

W E G Little serves as delegate from the Miniota Branch to the eleventh annual convention of the Manitoba Provincial Command in Kenora Ontario this week. He is accompanied by TH Harrison W Bel Douglas and RM Oliver.

Andy Grant reports a possible meteorite find on his farm, attracting scientific interest though uncertain in significance. Village rate payers urge repair of sidewalks

A number of residents say the town should address sidewalk repairs soon before deterioration increases repair costs. They believe the legislature should act to fund and oversee essential improvements to keep streets safe and accessible.

W I Ladies Meet in United Church Parlor

The W I met in the United church parlor on Thursday afternoon with members sharing reports from the district convention at Strathclair and the provincial convention in Winnipeg. President Mrs A Hanlin announced the Dental Clinic closed successfully with 120 children attended. The next meeting is scheduled for September.

School Board Minutes Reflect Staffing and Transportation Talks

The School Board met in town on Friday with resignations from Gwen Taylor Ethel Hembroff and Marjorie Bowman. Reports list engaged teachers Isabella Annie L Hills Beulah Catherine Bray Mimota Edmee Termaende Blaris Marion Wright. Transportation committee seeks study of routes from Kelly Stones Tomiskis and Darkers with changes raised for Miniota No 2 at 2.45 daily. Schools close June 25 reopen August 13. Spalding re-engaged at 650. If 50 pupils enroll Miniota High School Grade 12 taught free to residents with another teacher, and payments totaling 2226.06 approved. Next meeting at chairman’s call.
