Residents from Port Arthur Winnipeg Brooks Sask and Saskatoon traveled for a funeral in Crandall while a large sports day was marred by strong southeast winds and a heavy rainstorm. Nineteen teams competed and prize money was split between finalists. volunteers at the lunch booth reported soggy pies and disrupted service.
Large crowd gathers at the United church to honor Mrs. Arnold G. Douglas Crandall who died recently. Service demonstrates the community's respect as mourners fill the building beyond capacity.
Sunday service held at Hamida hospital for Maris Katherin Isabell Lawson born March 2, 1920 Crandall. She married William Williams in Melita May 1939 and after his death in 1949 remarried Arnold George Douglas June 6 1955. Four sons survive with her husband and both parents and siblings noted. burial in Crandall cemetery with honorary pallbearers listed.
Mrs J Russell Lynch died peacefully in Hamiota hospital on June 14 after an extended illness. Born Catherine Beatrice Shaw in Wallaceburg Ontario on December 20 1878, she married John Russell Lynch of Arrow River on February 14 1906. The couple lived on the Arrow River farm until 1927 when they moved to Miniota. She was a gifted musician who shared her talent locally.
A choctic organist known for faithful service to church and community has died. Her life was devoted to helping others, and her funeral at United Church drew a large crowd, with Rev. A.M Watts officiating and Mrs Riddell of Oakner as organist. She is survived by her husband a daughter Mrs A Spalding and two grandchildren.
Thanks to many neighbors and friends for help and inquiries during Mr. Douglas illness. Gratitude for cards, support, and funeral notices as the family mourns.
Public thanks express gratitude for kind enquiries visits flowers and support extended to Mrs J R Lynch during her stay at Haniota hospital. The note appreciates the sympathy shown and requests prayers and continued best wishes.

At Hamieta hospital on June 15 a daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Hughes.
