School Board approves staffing and schedule changes
On June 18 the board approved van route pay adjustments and the engagement of Migs Irene Wilson for Grades 4-6 at Miniota. They accepted resignations of Mrs Y Guno and L Draper effective June 30, re engaged E M Reynolds for 1956 7, and instructed principals to ensure Grade 1 to 8 papers are reviewed and distributed with principal approval by the last day of school. Schools to close June 29 and reopen August 29.

Rural Council Adopts Tax Settlement and Road Works Plan
The rural council met with full attendance and approved settlement with the Canadian Pacific Railway on disputed taxes. It designated special construction areas for grading and travel in multiple wards and authorized payments for levies and cemetery grants while approving land leases and a revised electors roll. The council also directed public works requests, culvert purchases, and by laws ratifying prior resolutions.
