Ladies Aid To Hamota Hospital District Meeting Summary
The Ladies Aid to Ham Io ta Hospital District No. 7A met in the community room on Friday May 24. The president Mrs L Wright presided with 17 districts present. Donations included tea towels and hospital articles. A new anesthetic machine was donated by the Thompson brothers of Oak River. The hospital aims to achieve accreditation. The blood donors clinic is set for August 13. The next meeting is June 28.

Frederick William Coward born October 14 1935 in Winnipeg pursued public schooling at Winnipeg Public Schools United College and University of Manitoba Law School. He earned a Bachelor of Laws and was called to the Manitoba Bar admitted as Barrister at law and solicitor. He served with Swift Macleod Deacon Co., Manitoba's oldest continuing firm for five years and now leads the Hamiota office of Doak Co.

Mr. Charlie Rowan is a patient in the Birtle Hospital after a stroke. Mrs. H Curry visited in Brandon at her daughter Mrs. W Potter’s home. The Explorer group attended a Rally at Rossburn on Saturday. Congratulations to Mrs. Henrietta Currie who turned 92 on June 1. She spent the day in Brandon with her daughter Mrs. Willard Potter at a family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Armitage Jim and Katherine spent the weekend in Winnipeg with Mrs. W Bardwell. Two senior citizens celebrated birthdays last week Mrs. J H Stuart at 87 on May 29 and Mrs. Curry at 92 on June 1.

Talent Night Presented by New Rink Fund Raises 144
The New Rink Fund held Talent Night at CKX Brandon with nine finalists chosen for Co-op Talent Night on July 5. Contestants included Glenda Hesse and Wendy Mitchell among vocal soloists, duets, and instrumental acts. Proceeds reached 144 with 2 percent of donors contributing. organizers seek 1,000 by October 1.

Miniota Girls Shine at Provincial Track Meet
Seven athletes from Miniota Collegiate-Dale Leland competed at the Provincial Track and Field Meet in Winnipeg on June 1. Dale Leland won the Intermediate Discus with 94 plus feet, Joan Leland was second in Primary high jump at 4 ft 5 in, Carol Goodwin second in Intermediate high jump at 4 ft 7 in, and Linda Armitage placed fourth in Junior hurdles. Congratulations, Girls.
