Prime Minister Urges Slower Driving Across Canada

Prime Minister Deifenbaker backs the Slow Down and Save campaign urging Canadians and visitors to curb the in-a-hurry driver on highways. The drive, sponsored by the Canadian Highway Safety Conference, runs through summer in Canada and allied regions.

Government offers hay and fodder moving aid for farms

The Department of Agriculture announces financial help for moving equipment and fodder due to a looming hay shortage. It pays 25c per mile for fully loaded trucks on outbound trips of at least 25 miles and 5c per ton mile for return fodder movement. Rail freight aid is available. Applications from Municipal Offices or Agricultural Representatives. Assistance runs June 23 1958 to March 15 1959. Hay sources nearby may relieve the shortage.
