Edwin J. Spalding dies at 60 in Miniota
Edwin John Spalding of Miniota died suddenly on July 15 1973 at his home. Born in 1913 in Birtle Manitoba he served in the RCAF during World War II and returned to municipal work in Miniota becoming Secretary Treasurer of the RM of Miniota in 1948. He led the Miniota Municipal School Board 1948 1968 and helped found the West Man Development Corporation. Survived by wife Dorothy two daughters Heather and Kathy son David and one granddaughter Robyn Shaen. brothers William Douglas and sister Dorothy. Funeral July 18 at Campbell's Funeral Chapel Hamiota with burial in Miniota Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.

District Happenings Attend 50th Anniversary at Regina
Attendees included the Paynter and Steuart clans along with Gow and Mark families at Willow Island on Waseana Lake. About 65 guests were present, with 13 from Beulah Crandall area. The Beulah W I met July 18 with six members and three visitors, hearing Miss Sisson on food additives. Various local visits and travels followed, including Fern and Frank MacDonald heading to Ontario, and a Calgary wedding noted. Continued on Page Three.
