Community honors Shurwell couple before departure
The community gathered at the sho grounds on Monday evening to honor Mr. and Mrs. I. Shurwell before leaving the district after many years. Mrs. J. T. Finkbeiner read the address, Mrs. J. Coxworth gave a purse of money, and Margaret Arias presented Mrs. Shurwell a bouquet. Obituary: Mrs John Clark Dies at 83 in Winnipeg
Beloved pioneer of the Blaiis district and Isabella, Mrs John Clark died suddenly and peacefully at her daughter Mrs Drummond’s home on Jessie Avenue Winnipeg on Tuesday July 9 in her 84th year.

Isabella Taylor a Scotland native lived at The Ross in Perth shire and arrived in Canada in 1885 with her mother and sister. She settled on the N E £ 6-15-25 homestead taken in 1880 by William Taylor a Miniota Reeve. Seven months after arrival she married John Clark and they helped build local political church educational and business projects.

Pioneer Clark Family Honored In Winnipeg Funeral Rites
A funeral service for Mrs Clark was held Thursday at the Clark home chapel in Leatherdale Foret Winnipeg, with Rev YH Bowman officiating. Many friends and Isabella church neighbors attended to pay respects. The casket was buried at Arrow River cemetery with pallbearers AE Brad H Harrison WB Gray DSutherland KS Sunley and RL Stevenson. Mrs Clark, last of the Taylor family, is survived by daughter Mrs M Drummond and sons Robert T Isabel la and J Allan of Biaris. Two sons Samuel and James preceded her. thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren remain.
