Memorial Service at St George Anglican in Birtle
Rev J M Buck spoke at the municipal Memorial Service in the Community Centre on Sunday June 29 urging Christian living as the path to peace. Rev A M Watts assisted, I W Sparks read the Honor Roll, Isabella choir led music, and E Carnegie J Carnegie played the Lament. Canadian Legion Miniota Branch directed the service with refreshments for veterans and wives.

Local Boy Hurt in Gasoline Fire Incident
Ronald Rudd, 11, son of Mr and Mrs Leslie Rudd, suffered injuries Tuesday morning July 1 while handling potato bags and gasoline. The bags were placed near a burning incinerator from an earlier fire, and the situation flared unexpectedly.
