The Birdtail River Divisional Board met at Shoal Lake on June 24 1965 at 8 p.m. Attendees included Inspector Funk and officials from The Indian Affairs Branch and The Department of Education. Minutes approve June 15 Crandall meeting, discuss by laws 3/65, cancel Stefanuk contract, thank Principal's Club, and authorize temporary classrooms at Hamiota Strathclair and Birtle. The board adjourned to meet again July 2 1965 at 8 p.m.

Manitoba agricultural engineers urge early treatment of lakes sloughs and dugouts to prevent algae blooms. Dissolve copper sulphate bluestone in the water every three weeks through July and August using 1 2 pounds per 100 000 gallons, with higher dose in alkaline water. Apply with a porous sack then repeat until dissolved to protect livestock wildlife and water quality.

Mr and Mrs Tom Stewart and Allan with Mr and Mrs H Calder and Ronnie Rittaller left on a motor trip to the west coast visiting Kamloops Vancouver and Idale. Rev H I Bowman of Portage Lake visited with Mr and Mrs A A and others in Winnipeg. Archie Stewart died suddenly at his home in Stouffville Ontario. Community extends sympathy to his son Bob Stewart and family. The Explorer and Cubs and leaders are camping for a few days at Birtle Dam.
