Local News Briefs from Virden and Regina Exhibitions
Inspector Beveridge of Virden viewed the schools last week. Prize lists for the World's Grain Exhibition and Conference at Regina from July 24 to August 8 have been issued and may be seen. Miss Kathleen Lynch hosted the Girls' Bridge Club with ten members present and high score by Miss Phyllis Dorward. A lunch followed and plans were made for a game with the boys on January 26 at the Commercial Hotel. The next meeting will be at Miss Phyllis’s home.

Community whist drive and dance raises funds
Irene Dorward led the event on February 2 at the rink, drawing a large crowd for twenty five tables. Prizes went to Ina Cunningham Doris McPherson Jack Rowan and Bobby Woods with traveling prizes to Wilma Chapman and Wm Taylor. Jack Cook provided music as dancing followed a lunch, and proceeds totaled about 370 dollars for expenses.
