Rural Council Votes on Finances and Land Sales
At the December 19 meeting the Rural Council approved 50 50 road snowplowing funding with the Ministry of Public Works, authorized wage increases for telephone operators, allowed overdrawn ward appropriations, notified arrears under sale agreements, approved several land sales including 472 acres to C N Ryan and NW 32 15-27 to Miss Eller Bartley, and SW 26-14 26 to J M Bell for 1600 with weather conditions to permit harvest. A hospital district delegation discussed the deficit but no action taken. by laws, including 1133 for transient traders, were passed. council thanked retiring councillor J T McKenzie and granted 150 to Reeve H S Hyndman. Meeting adjourned to January 2.
