Beulah Mourns Phillip Tomiski After Sudden Death

Phillip Tomiski died at his Beulah home on February 10. Born in Kowalowka Austria in 1889, he moved to Canada in 1910 and farmed in Blaris for fourteen years. He married Elizabeth Lepischak in Rossburn in 1929. The Beulah United Church service was led by Rev Sloan on February 13, with burial in Birtle Cemetery. He leaves wife Elizabeth three sons John Brandon Bill Birtle Stanley at home two daughters Marion Brandon and Jean Tutkaluke eight grandchildren. Pallbearers included Bill Stracher. Chapel assisted arrangements.

Isabella and Miniota Hockey Results and Fundraising

On Saturday February 15 games between Isabella and Miniota saw the 11 and under team win and the 14 and under Isabella win at Miniota. A February lunch sale raised $10 and a Bake Sale on February 14 raised $40 for hockey equipment. The team from Arrow River and Miniota has four wins one tie and two losses and now sports new uniforms.

Pre College Clinics and Seminars Planned in Brandon

Grade XII students from Western Manitoba high schools will attend Pre College Clinics and Seminars at Brandon College on March 6 7 and 13. About 750 students will take psych tests receive entrance information and learn about scholarships and bursaries to fund further education.
