Mr and Mrs J J Hentecson hosted the Anglican Y A at their home on Wednesday night. Contests and socializing filled the evening and it ended with a pleasant lunch and group singing of They are jolly good fellows.
Local notices describe rubber bargains for all family members and a push to prepare for slushy weather. Community items include a United YPS meeting on capitalism led by H R McRae, a bonspiel setup with signups to H Chalmers McRae or E Spalding, and a social hosted by the United church Ladies Aid. The Silver anniversary of Mr and Mrs W H Yarwood is celebrated with a two tier cake and gifts for John Spalding. The gathering ends with singing They are jolly good fellows.
Mr and Mrs C D Beard of Miniota celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on February 23 1884 in Canada after emigrating from Brighton England. They married in Brighton and later settled near Beulah and Miniota before retiring to town. They have ten children eight grandchildren and twelve grandsons with both in good health at age 74 and 72 respectively. A surprise party with court whist and a two tier wedding cake followed a supper at their home.
