Miniota events raise funds for village memorial

The Miniota Women's Institute staged the play Her Husband's Wife at Miniota hall to raise funds for a village memorial. A dance followed the show, drawing a larger crowd than the earlier council meeting where J W Warren chaired and Spalding reported solid finances. The meeting flagged levy funds, hinting at about 600 dollars for the year, with plans for sidewalk work and park improvements. A herd by law enforcer was appointed, along with curb on riding cycles and auto speeding. D A Fraser won another council term. A Spencer was proposed to fill a vacancy. A memorial topic resurfaced for a potential special ratepayer meeting later.
