A. Spalding left on Tuesday for a visit to Winnipeg. Mrs G Rowan is very ill and may recover. Misses Wilma and Irene Chapman hosted a bridge gathering Tuesday night. Old Saraville School pupils will have a more comfortable return with a new furnace installation.
Recent heavy snowfalls leave most cars on blocks yet two snow mobiles have appeared and seem to grade well.
The national parks branch reports 91652 visitors at Riding Mountain in the season. Some 24303 autos entered the park. Visitors came from Manitoba and the Prairie Provinces, plus hundreds from every province and 23 U.S. states. Since 1930 about 820000 has been spent on park development projects.
Harrison council announces 1934 finances are sound with over twenty thousand dollars in the bank, no debts, and advance levy payments. Of 122 tax parcels advertised, 10 sold to private buyers, 3 to the municipality, 77 redeemed before sale, suggesting broad fiscal stability for the district.
Last Friday night the Sun Day Schools held their annual Christmas Tree Entertainment. Absent due to sickness and travel, the rest enjoyed carols songs recitations and pageants including The Story of the First Christmas Tree An Old English Christmas and The Fairy Tree. Santa Claus visited at both Anglican and United churches distributing gifts to scholars and attendees.
