John Charles Rowan 89 died in Brand on Assiniboine Hospital. Funeral held November 20 at Miniota United Free Church with Rev. Sloan officiating. interment in Miniota cemetery. Born May 6, 1880s on his father's farm in Parkistone now Miniota, he farmed locally a lifetime and belonged to LO&O F Lodge. Pallbearers included Lloyd Oliver Earl Thompson Frank Rowan Dave Rowan and Russell Howard.

New FM Radio CKX FM to Launch in Western Manitoba

Western Manitoba will get a new FM station CKX FM with 96.1 MHz and 29 000 watts. The station begins December 16 and will air 12 hours daily from 12 noon to midnight in multiplexed stereo with a 12 000 song stereo library and varied music plus news and information.

Receipts for the M C W Tea and bake sale totaled 2038. Special thanks to all who helped. Beulah Explorers held an Initiation on Wednesday November 13 with five new members Billie Jean Doyle Cehally Phyllis Kelly Sharon Cooper and Debbie Morgan. Last year’s group received recognition for 1963 and also initiated new members. Mothers of the girls attended. Lunch was served by Mrs Wiltshire and Miss Paynter.
