Golden Anniversary of Randell Couple Celebrated in Hamiota
Hamiota Manitoba marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Charles B Randell with a weekend gathering July 7 9 1978 at the Randell home in Rocky Mountain House Alberta hosted by sons Bev and Ian and their families. The couple married July 25 1928 at the Delgaty farm in Gilbert Plains Manitoba. They lived in Saskatchewan before moving to Hamiota where Charlie managed Manitoba Pool Elevators for 20 years and also farmed. About 60 relatives from across Canada attended a smorgasbord, tour, church dinner and concert featuring family performers and a nostalgic tribute to the bride’s sister Viola Miller. An open house in Hamiota July 25 capped events with well wishes and an electronic anniversary clock gift.
