Miss Audrey Leland Takes Post at Shoal Lake Store

Local notes report Miss Audrey Leland leaving Monday to work in a Shoal Lake store. Visits by Mr. and Mrs. Fotheringham, G. Fotheringham RC AFC Brandon, are noted. Also, Miss K Staples of Angusville plans Miami teaching duties after visiting H. D. Armitage’s home. The town records reflect a 40 mph highway speed limit set to begin May 1. A plebiscite letter from J. A. Glen calls councils to form nonpartisan Affirmative Vote Committees to organize voter turnout amid Marquette interest.

Middleton Death Note Corrected with Family Details

The obituary should note that Mr G. A. A. Middleton’s wife died in June 1939 and his son James will be three this June. Visitors to Winnipeg included Mr and Mrs P I Robinson Mrs C W Ellerington and Mrs J Vradenburgh. P 8 McPherson left Friday for a Winnipeg position. Friends visited Mrs C D Beard Friday night to wish her 90th birthday with flowers.

Services at Holy Trinity Church and Red Cross Comforter Draw

Services will be held at Holy Trinity church at 10 30 a m on Sunday and each Sunday until further notice. Sunday school also at 10 30 a m. The Wynons ladies donated a 72 by 90 inch carded wool comforter for the Red Cross now on view at Miniota Hardware. Tickets cost 25 cents and the draw is open for purchase.

Milk for Britain Fund Boost From Pleasant Whist Drive

A whist drive at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Mackinnon Friday raised funds for the Milk for Britain Fund. Six tables played with high scorers Mrs. F. L. Spencer and D. Cunningham. An Adel luncheon followed, and Missita W. F. served as sponsors, raising $5.
