Manitoba notes increased markets for vegetables and special crops raise the need for more irrigation. In 1961 Manitoba irrigated 5000 acres, with plans for studies in several areas. Potential sites include Portage la Prairie Carberry Pembina Triangle and riverlands along Red Assiniboine and Pembina rivers. Localized irrigation near reservoirs expected.
