Mass Meeting On Proposed Municipal Building

The Mineral Point Commercial Club organizes a mass meeting at city hall on Friday May 31 to present facts for voters about the proposed $40,000 municipal building and the June 4 bond election. Mayor Osborne and other officials lead a committee to enlighten voters and invite opposition to attend and present views.

Death follows epileptic man in Mineral Point incident

A man from Lone Rock, visiting Mineral Point, died after being placed in the city hall cage by Chief Thrasher. He had epilepsy and was about 45 years old. Relatives took charge but could not control his raving. He died hours later and was shipped to Lone Rock for burial. Also noted: a Sunday passenger train hoped for between Mineral Point and Janesville. Elizabeth Schmidt died in Muncie, Indiana, aged about 59, and was buried in St. Mary's cemetery after returning remains to Mineral Point.

Graduation Week Schedule With School Plays And Casts

The program lists Junior reception May 31 Baccalaureate June 2 at Methodist Episcopal church and Class Day June 5 6 with Commencement and Alumni banquet June 7. The senior class play Diamonds and Hearts runs June 5 6 at city hall with cast including Bernice Halstead Cora Ivey and Jo Ellery. Graduation exercises June 7 at P M church feature class marches memorial and diplomas by President E C Fiedler plus student performances by Miss Nettie Wallis and Miss Alice Spensley.

Milwaukee merchants to visit Mineral Point week of June 17

A Milwaukee Merchants and Manufacturers delegation will visit Mineral Point during the week starting June 17. The local commercial club formed a reception committee led by Ed Brown, Phil Allen, Mayor Osborne, T. M. Priestley and R. M. Crawford to arrange proper greetings. Further details will follow.
