Mineral Point prepares two major programs for the Class of 20 graduates ending the school year. An 8 pm June 22 class day at city hall with admission fees 25 and 50 cents, followed by a June 28 commencement at the P M church with diplomas presented and a refined program.

Mifflin Drill Worker Severely Burned In Accident

George Phillips of this city suffered serious burns while cleaning a gasoline engine at the Advance mine prospectors’ drill in Mifflin. A hidden flame ignited gasoline in a tube, enveloping his hands neck and face. He was brought home for treatment by Dr. Deahofe and is expected to remain off work for weeks. A mail clerk quipped about return envelopes for the dead letter office.

High School Nine Clinches Southwest Wisconsin Title

Manger's Jewelry Store notes our high school team defeated the Platteville Normal baseball club 7 to 0 last Saturday to run their season record to seven wins and zero losses and earn the honor of Southwest Wisconsin high school champions. The game was one-sided and listless, disappointing spectators who expected a tougher test.
