The marriage of Mr. William E. Crawford of Burdette Iowa to Miss Laura Bur ess of Waldwick took place Feb 14 at the bride’s parental residence with Rev. Vincent officiating. The event drew many well wishers.
News brief items report a Washington's Birthday dance at K P Hall tonight, Correll and Martin for clothing, six cents for a Red Trunk with a good smoke, and notes on high school entertainment this week. Also mentioned are visits, local birds, and updates on residents and officials.
Last Sunday the Primitive Methodist Church celebrated wiping out all debts with a full day of gospel songs sermons and praise. Rev W H Penhallegon D D of Decatur Ill gave sermons praised as a strong pulpit effort. The event drew a large Mineral Point audience and honored citizen memories while noting the churchs strong finances.
John Ross reports improved mining work in the drift northeast from the shaft toward St Pauls cemetery with 12 to 18 inch jack. Stock sells quickly though some shares remain. Olmtiead & Gugerty to open a mining exchange in the Ivey building at High street on Monday Feb 26. A Foresters court mourns death of Albert S White. High School Athletic Association plans two evening entertainments Feb 22 and 23 at City Hall with music, readings, and a debate on socialism. Tickets go on sale at Meserole & Horns drug store Feb 21 and 22 for Thursday and Friday evenings respectively.
