The County Seat reports Olympia Brown in town arranging a women suffrage convention to be held at the Dodgeville courthouse on February 15 and 16. The Shullsbury Mine reports a major new find after moving the engine south last June. Miners broke into a large opening in late October and now east and west drifts reveal widening chambers with 15 to 20 foot breadths. The incline shaft boosts hoisting to about 300 tubs per day and up to four thousand pounds of mineral hourly. The mine attracts many visitors and the outlook is favorable as mineral prices rise.
Jd J Ross and Sons announce a public sale at their Mineral Point farm on Wednesday March 9 1887. The auction includes 25 bulls eight to twelve months old and 15 cows and heifers from several named families with breeding to Cruickshank Red Commander. Also 6 high grade bulls from their own stock. Catalogues available. Terms include eight months at 8 percent with security or 3 percent off for cash.
Tony Bros of Mineral Point Wisconsin announces a closing out sale at cost for all merchandise. They will remain at the same stand and buy butter eggs and poultry in season with cash. Dated February 8 1987.
