J W Rewey died at his Rewey home on a December evening in 1905 aged 70 years and 8 months He was born in Berkshire New York and lived as a farmer merchant and bank founder in Platteville Mifflin and Rewey He served as county commissioner a state legislator and a Mason His funeral followed a grand Masonic service and the Nativity feasts at St Pauls and St Marys churches featured notable choirs and sermons by Rev O Keefe and Father Weyer He left a wife and son with a daughter who died young

Youth narrowly escapes gunshot in trap accident
Ed Spitzbarth, son of Lawrence Spitzbarth, was out near his home on Tuesday morning when a .22 rifle discharged at a trap. The bullet entered the left neck and exited five inches away just missing the carotid artery by less than a quarter inch. He continued checks before seeking medical care, and no serious aftereffects are anticipated.

Death of Mrs Finkelmeyer After Typhoid Pneumonia
Mrs. Finkelmeyer died Sunday morning at about eight after a ten day illness from typhoid pneumonia. She was about 48 and leaves husband and six children. Funeral held Wednesday at 10:30 at St. Pauls Catholic church, with a large attendance. Frank Ovitz and Clarence Enzenroth and Ernest Ovitz, University of Illinois students, are home for holidays.
