Sunday morning November 4 Glen wood Methodist Church will start a series of evangelistic services led by Rev. Ward with assistance from Mrs. W. I. Miller of Baldwin Kansas. Services will be held each evening at 7 30. Also noted is the resignation of south Glenwood mail carrier James L. McCormick after three years and 16 days of service with Wambonsie hills noted. W. H. Hittle will take over as carrier. A transient Texas man suspected of small store thefts in Glenwood reportedly left town after no forwarding address was given.

Mrs Hester Kates is reported sick. Tiagene Coleman and Frank Newman haul apples to Council Bluffs. Shanks orchard yields over 1 000 bushels. Leek 780 bushels at 5 cents each, 500 York Imperial. Vance returns from Dakota with his own apple car, plans another. Henry Horstmeyer and family move to South Dakota, buying land during threshing. John Wallace birthday gathering with 40 to 60 guests. his wife and neighbors provide a fine lunch.
Ezra Meeker and his famed ex team were in Emerson on Monday. Henry J Baird spoke to a fair audience Tuesday night at the opera house. Postmaster Graham hosted his son in law H L West a ranchman in North Dakota this week. John Lang lies in serious condition with only slight hope of recovery after canceling his California trip.
James P. Nichols died this Friday morning at 1 1 o clock after months of illness at his Glenwood home. He was about 44 years old and had lived in Glenwood for many years.
Mineola HC Jurgens is constructing two new barns on his farm north of town. Louie Lanz fell from a shed while shingling and broke his left shin. John Lau has returned from a visit to Germany arriving in Mineola Saturday after several months away. Mrs HC Kruse, visiting relatives at Minden, reports her little girl was quite sick but improved after the first of the week.
