Our Crop Report Highlights Strong Planting Conditions
The week ending Monday morning was warmer than usual with daily excess temperatures from 4 to 8 degrees. High southerly winds and full sunshine accelerated moisture evaporation, and rain is needed in parts of the northwest and west central districts. Corn planting is favorable and nearing completion in the south and center, with germination strong and early fields showing good cultivation progress. Oats, spring wheat, barley, and grain are doing well across the state, fruit prospects are good, and frost damage has been light.
