Also rummage sale at Congregational Church May 13, a rummage sale notice, strayed heifer near Henderson, alfalfa hay for sale, and a meeting of United Tax Payers League at the Commercial Club room on May 6.

Mrs Downs Receives Hospital Treatment In Glenwood

Mrs George Downs traveled from Council Bluffs to Glenwood where she stayed a week at her son's home to receive X ray examination and hospital treatment. The therapy seems to show good progress and she plans to visit her sister Mrs Wheeler in Sioux City soon.

Get Out Your Tackle Opens Iowa Fishing Season

The Iowa fishing season starts May 15 and promises better days ahead after a poor catch last year. Entertains at Sunday Dinner hosted by Mrs. Clyde Genung included Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bunton and daughters of Atlantic, and Mr. and Mrs. Nicholls of Atlantic, plus Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Bunton of Walnut. Dr. M. W. Hoover and Prof. Montgomery attended. Atlantic and Walnut guests arrived by autos. Georgiana Bunton, daughter of G. H. Bunton, boards at the Genung home.

Japanese Night At The Flowery Kingdom Hosted In Glenwood

The Flowery Kingdom in Glenwood hosted a May 4 social for the Young Ladies Aid by the Woman's Baptist Missionary Society led by Mrs. Patrick. Mesdames Bartlett Enslow Brown Plimpton and Ewing spoke on Japan while Bessie Evernham and Mrs. June Fickel sang. Mary Brown Pauline Cheyney and Grace Hilton performed. Hostesses served oriental refreshments and invited guests to return.

Junior Senior Banquet at Carter Home Features Entertainment

The Glenwood High School event hosted 30 juniors, 20 seniors, and six faculty members with a grand table, music, and toasts. After 11:16, attendees attended Cinderella at Rex Theater, aided by Mr. Seymour. Toasts honored participants and guests, with a formal menu and performances by Blanche Burres and Nora Barnett.
