Estray notice filed by C B Gowdy of Rawles Township Mills County Iowa describes a bay horse found May 30 1921. The animal has a white left hind foot and white stripe in forehead about six or seven years old weighing 1000 to 1100 pounds. Ray Starr and George Barry, former Hastings residents now in Council Bluffs, were brought to Glenwood on bootlegging charges. They appeared before Justice Goodrich for a preliminary hearing and were bound over for grand jury action. Unable to post $1,000 bonds, they were jailed until Berry, aided by his father and brother, posted bond and released.

Mrs. Frank Davis, of New York City, traveling with her mother Mrs. Jamison, left Sunday for Omaha to join Mr. Davis. They took a 9:30 train to San Francisco for a two week visit and to allow Mr. Davis to conduct business for his insurance company. They plan to return home via the Canadian Northern Pacific.

The Pennsylvania museum recently purchased six Mongol pillar rugs now hung in Memorial Hall at Fairmount Park. Woolen bindings and dragon motifs survive from lamaseries pillars, suggesting textile post decoration linked to earlier carved rites.
