Oakland residents mourn the funeral of Mrs. Ti A Shepard after she was killed in an auto accident early this week. Harold Slater, recently enlisted with the Sixth Nebraska, had traveled from western Nebraska to join the service in the Mexican trouble, following a visit to the Klinas the Sunday before the tragedy.
Obituary and funeral notice for Olive Lois Shaw McLain, wife of Clyde H McLain, who died July 12 near Glenwood after a long life in Hastings area. She leaves five daughters, husband, parents, sister and many relatives. Funeral July 14 at M B church Malvern with Rev M A Gable officiating. Mrs. Jemima Shanks died July 13 at Edmundson hospital after paralysis, about 60, survived by daughter Mrs. John Hill, funeral at Glenwood led by Rev. H. Edgar Hall, burial in Glenwood cemetery. William Rains, pioneer resident near Malvern, died July 16 after long illness at about 82, leaving a widow and two daughters, one in South Dakota.
