Harding Store Closure Over Mortgage Default

The Harding jewelry store in Glenwood was closed July 10 by Deputy Sheriff Edwards after a mortgage of 88 015 80 to Mills County National Bank was defaulted on June 26. The mortgage has been transferred to J B Johnson, former owner, who said plans are undecided. Stock sale set for July 22.

Thompson and Neis Wed at Glenwood Institution

Gari Thompson age 23 and Miss Tillian Neis age 4, both attendants at Glenwood Institution, were married Tuesday morning by Rev. Palmerton at the Baptist church parsonage. They departed for Randibault Minnesota to resume duties at the feeble minded institution there. They were well known to the local residents and friends of the Institution.

Denver Autoists on PanamA Exposition Tour Reach Glenwood

Eight cars of Denver tourists traveling to Chicago and back for the 1915 Panama Exposition halted in Glenwood Tuesday morning on the return leg. Pilot cars from Glenwood, Council Bluffs, Tarkio, and Shenandoah accompanied the party, with stops to feed in Tabor and praise for the roads, except for a short stretch between Missouri Valley and Council Bluffs.

A man recently found at Pranklin Ind was brought to Glenwood by Sheriff Bushdell this morning. He posted bond immediately and is staying at his father C. L. Miller’s home east of Glenwood while proceedings approach.

The Glenwood Commercial Club expresses gratitude for the 1912 July Fourth celebration. It praises bands, speakers from Pacific Junction Hastings Silver City and Tabor, Cedar Creek and Glenwood baseball, floats, navy display, moving pictures by Seymour & Fair Bros., and the large attendance. It lists committees and officers who organized funds and events, with special thanks to Mayor Dr. Frank Ek Donelan and others for planning safety and entertainment.

Officer Geo McMillen of Glenwood seeks information on Ryal Walters. A man naming himself Ryal Walters from Glenwood was found dead near Tama and shipped to Des Moines Friday night. Death appeared from a revolver shot. body sent to Still College but unembalmed and unfit for use. Unidentified on arrival, later described as a tramp shipped from Tama by an undertaker. Buried in Des Moines by order of the city physician. Noval Walters known locally. Anyone with information should notify Marshal George McMillen of Glenwood.

Notice Teachers Uniform County Certificates Exam

The next regular examination for Uniform County Certificates will be held at the county office in Glenwood on Wednesday July 24 Thursday July 25 and Friday July 26. Examinations start at 8 00 a m Wednesday. Past questions and regulations available on request. Experienced teachers with current Iowa certificates not yet assigned may be connected with boards seeking staff by contacting County Superintendent Geo Be Masters.
