A 20 year old Greek mother, Menly Anastor, left her six week old son George on the stoop of the New York Foundling Hospital due to destitution. She lingered to check the child, was arrested by Policeman Blake after watchers alerted police, and both were taken to the House of Detention after a milk and food collection was raised for her.

Rockefeller grant expands national mental hygiene push

The Rockefeller Foundation gave 22800 to extend the national committee for mental hygiene. Mental hygiene societies operate in eleven states including Illinois and are forming in seven more. Dr Thomas W Salmon reported that care of the insane now welcomes expert studies and foresees a day when no one is confined in county alms houses and jails.

Aviation death toll 1915 totals 107 lives across nations

Third in aviation death toll reports 107 lives lost in 1915 in civil aviation. American fatalities numbered fourteen with three passengers. Other countries show England 28, France 29, Belgium five, Italy 19, Germany eight, Spain four, Argentina three, Denmark two, Bulgaria two, Chile one, Sweden three, Japan two, and India not listed.
