Local meetings include Baptist Indies Kensington, Dome Circle church group, and Union prayer at the Armory. City tax receipts were $642.87. trustees seek a small levy again to boost service, noting past success from $30 to $75 ranges. Nearby towns and 25 country borrowers show broad support as basketball scores note Tabor’s win at Sidney 2 to 4 and Silver City loss at Malvern 44 to 13.

Copy from the Decatur Review recalls Captain T J Abel leading a 25 man Minnesota unit on a mercy voyage to aid Belgians. They delivered rations inland to 50 refugees and 90 freedmen at Fayetteville and found destitution in Clarksville. The mission, begun December 1865, reported widespread need and urged civil agents, amid mixed replies on freedmen labor.
