Cogley Harvesting Ice At His Wisconsin Plant
A visit to Bob Cogley’s ice plant reveals two main innovations. The ice cutter uses a sled with a gasoline engine and a movable circular saw aligned by a gauged marker for straight cuts. The ice lifter, driven by pulleys and a turntable, lifts blocks via buckets and moves them to storage or handling points, a design Cogley claims is his own unique conception.
