Glenwood reports visits from GLEN woop EQ Leeka of lower Lyons and Assessor John Merryhew of Malvern in town. Several residents, including Miss Fern Harpe and Mrs. Seth Dean, are noted for new employment and visits in nearby towns. The literary society at Hawthorne school plans a Feb 7 meeting to discuss school consolidation. A large church reception added 22 new members with about 200 attending.
Armory stockholders and others met at the court house selecting H. H. Cheynay and Lt. Walace as temporary officers. The articles of incorporation were amended changing organization date to Feb 1 1914 and the name to The Glenwood Armory Co. A board of directors was chosen: J. W. Carter president C. E. Dean vice president R. E. Humphrey secretary H. L Cheyney treasurer W. J Rathke sergeant. Location committee reported nine options priced from 1000 to 4000 cash or in stock. Locations mainly around the square with Holiness church corner and other nearby properties. The committee was discharged and directed to report Friday night.
A box social and program will be held at Goheen's schoolhouse, two and a half miles south of Glenwood, Friday evening, February 13. Ladies are asked to bring boxes. Lela Miller is the teacher.
Glenwood churches unite for a Go To Church Sunday on February 15 inviting all residents to attend services across denominations. Methodist, Christian Bible School at 9, morning service at 11. Christian Endeavor at 6:30, evening service at 7:30. Congregational series on life themes. Episcopal Bishop I N Morrison to visit Davenport and hold a 7:30 service Monday.

W M Lamb installs a new bookkeeping system beginning January 4 1914. The machine uses loose leaf ledger and loose leaf journal to minimize errors. It promises accuracy and speed, letting a clerk view all account facts at a glance, marking a shift to machine aided accounting.
A box social is planned at White Chapel school house Friday evening February 6. All are invited. Ladies should bring boxes and gentlemen bring pocketbooks. An important meeting of trustees follows. The Oak Township Board meets at Mineola on February 9 1914 to appoint road superintendents and handle other business.
Farmers who were members of the Home Mutual Hail Association of Cher okee enjoyed crop protection with a four percent limit, but in 1912 and 1913 coverage was reduced to one and a half percent. The five year average remains about $15.85 per acre.
