Ashland Nebraska proprietor J B LaChapelle of the Journal of Ashland reports his printing plant burned last Sunday arising from a neighbor's butcher shop. There was no insurance on the plant, a serious loss to the editor who long operated the Mills county Journal in Glenwood. The rural carrier pay hike to 840 from 720 is noted with 36,000 carriers affected. many left for low pay, while lawmakers debate higher wages for themselves.

Accident Injures H C Redfield While Shelling Corn
In Rawles township near Glenwood last Tuesday H C Redfield, while oiling a corn shelling machine, had his left arm drawn into the cog gears by a cotton mitten. The wheel clogged by the coat sleeve required reversing the machinery to release the arm, lacerating flesh and tearing off a little finger. doctors hope the rest of the arm may be saved.

The funeral of Henry Edward Saar was held at his home six miles north of Glenwood at 1 oclock Friday afternoon. Large attendance marked the service with life long friends among pallbearers and a quartet performing. Relatives from Seattle and multiple towns attended. remains laid in Plumer settlement cemetery.
