Christmas Doings at the Glenwood Institution
The Glenwood Institution ends its holiday season with a New Year’s Eve masquerade ball for children and staff. A lengthy program featured moving pictures sleight of hand music and the annual Christmas play The Pied Piper of Hamelin. Nearly 1200 children filled the hill with festive activity including a Christmas tree and a botched rat parade performance by 18 boys.

Audubon Builds Cement Walk to Cemetery
A 10 105 foot cement walkway linking Glenwood to the cemetery was constructed by Audubon volunteers at a cost of 1282 25 dollars. Funds were raised by subscription with one lodge contributing 250 dollars and three other lodges giving 50 dollars each.

Horse Thief Escapes Sheriff Over Jail Break
Sheriff Linville received word from Missouri that Charles Williams, the man who stole the team at the Junction and was nabbed at Skidmore, Mo., had broken jail and escaped. Williams refused to reveal what became of the Jones team.
