Glenwood social life spills into town with visits from Mrs. May Metzler of New York City and Miss Nellie Jenkins from Chicago. John Johnson and helpers completed a house move in Plattsmouth while J W Edwards returned from Lincoln to continue carpentry work. Jamison store burglarized. forty dollars in Mocha gloves stolen. banks report cash on hand with no distress signals. Several town residents plan gatherings and entertainments as winter nears.

Wall family trip recalls Indiana roots and Civil War kin

Dr. Wall of West Oak and his wife returned from an extended eastward journey to Mr Wall's boyhood home. The Greenfield Democrat notes Col William BR Wall, formerly of Hancock county now in West Oak, Ta., as a famed Indiana soldier in the Mexican War and Civil War.

Manila Bulletin illustrated on Panay and Negros industries

Carl T. Nygren of Manila sends a copy of the Manila Daily Bulletin to the Trib with an illustrated write up on Panay and Negros industries. It notes civilization, railroads, sugar cane, cotton and tobacco. Nygren, from Dumaguete, plans to marry Myrtle Miller of Glenwood. The bulletin praises Nygren as trusted by the central government.

Big rural sale and assorted goods ad in local notice

M. Shoening schedules a large auction north of Henton on the Council Bluffs road with livestock, corn, hay, and machinery. T. G. Byers is auctioneer and bills advertise in the paper. Also ads for soft coal, Glenwood real estate, a gasoline engine, Foley's Honey and Tar, and Tribune job work.
