Court House Notes and Local Licensing Steps
The County Board will meet in regular session next Monday. Recorder Rhoades reports the first optician certificate filed under the state exam law by A. J. Howe of Glenwood. Dr. Sidwell, assistant physician at the Glenwood Institution, filed his certificate with the county recorder. Treasurer Fickel will hold the annual sale of lands and lots for delinquent taxes on next Monday. Witnesses in court complain of partiality in the distribution of Spitoons in the courtroom as jurors, lawyers, clerks, and the sheriff have cuspidors while none are outside the railing, and some have been summoned to court fearing they should be provided with the luxury of cuspidors. Signs read Dont Spit on the Floor. Hence they must hike downstairs when they would expectorate.
