An 1857 temperance relic on display at the old settlers picnic in Ta bor features a cloth painting of an axe and a liquor barrel with contents spilling. It recalls the first barrel of whisky shipped to Tabor over fifty years ago and honors Mrs. George B. Gaston, widow of a pioneer and mother of A. G. C. Gaston.
