Mills County Central Fair Dates At Malvern This Year

Dates for Mills County Central Fair at Malvern are Sept 2 3 and 4 next week. President Wot Johnson and Secretary Swain promote the event aiming to be the best fair yet. Attractions include Mark Hendershot the famed drummer of the Rappahannock daily. M A Chang Lashare of the Floral Hall urges exhibitors to write or call promptly.

Runaway Orphan Stephen Gallup Draws Wide Attention

Stephen Gallup, about 12, a ward of M P Leet near Glenwood, vanished Aug 16 and crossed several towns before ending at Percy Laraway near Nenton station. A bright, imaginative boy who told of roaming past experiences, he sought to see the world and now has a temporary home with Sam Godsey and Mr. Laraway.

Frank Wallace Buys Green Bay Lumber Company

Frank Wallace has purchased the Green Bay Lumber Company’s business at Glenwood and will take possession after invoicing the existing stock. L. L. Greenwalt, Hastings Democratic candidate for county clerk, visited Glenwood last Monday to meet residents and discuss his campaign. He is well known in Hastings, having lived on a farm for 25 years, and is praised for integrity, public service, and church and Sunday school leadership. The Tribune endorses him as suitable for the office if elected.
