Scarlet fever health guidance and quarantine rules

Scarlet fever is highly contagious and requires physician oversight and strict quarantine. The incubation is two to four days, with high fever, sore throat, and a scarlet rash. Transmission occurs via contact with discharges or contaminated objects. Discharge containment and disinfection persist until peeling ends, 70 to 80 days in some cases. Isolation lasts 28 days or more, school is barred for children until 10 days after quarantine ends. Families may require selective disinfection and quarantines, with infectiousness lasting four weeks from onset. Diet centers on milk, with kidney risk prompting doctor visits and urine tests every 6 to 12 months after recovery. Potential complications include impaired vision, hearing loss, mastoid operations, and heart issues.
