The home folks bid her farewell and we predict she will excel in government work.

The term Uncle Sam arose in Troy and Greenbush during 1812 14 as troops received beef shipments contracted by Elbert Anderson Jr. The beef packed in barrels at Greenbush barracks led soldiers to nickname it Uncle Sam s beef and earlier believed the letters U S stood for the government.
