Treenails to Fasten Emergency Fleet Ships

The United States Emergency Corporation will construct wooden warships using treenails cut from live oak or yellow locust. Each hull requires 300000 treenails and 600000 wedges, driven with white oak wedges. Treenails measure 24 inches by 1.25 inches and swell after launch for a snug fit. Cavite Time Signals Tie Pacific to Manila Observ

Cavite radio station, with the Philippine Bureau of Posts and Manila Observatory, has since October 1 transmitted time signals from the 120th meridian east daily at 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. Manila Observatory clocks feed Cavite, starting signals at 10:55 a.m. and 0:55 p.m., for five minutes, with specific clock ticks omitted.
