Prince Edward in Burlington Vermont 1798 Visit
The future Duke of Kent and father of Queen Victoria passed through Burlington in February 1798 from Quebec with a small escort. He stayed three days in the village then moved on to Boston, entertaining locals with farm humor and a brusque courtesy noted by Col. Stephen Keyes, who called him no gentleman after a sudden retirement.

Waste Not Liquid Manure for Crops in Autumn and Spring
The article explains making manure-water from a sunken hogshead to fertilize oats, cabbage, turnips, spinach, strawberries, and other crops. It recommends dilute application about one-fourth manure water to three parts water, with nitrate of soda at one to three pounds per barrel, and notes a wet East season aiding growth.
