He notes mild winters, abundant game, local wells producing twenty barrels daily, and stark poverty among peasants, with reflections on Russia’s government and farming methods. He expects to return by June, health allowing.
The Pittsburg Evangelical conference in Franklin notes the Galloway Heavy Oil District spans over two thousand acres with wells pumping from $3.50 to $5 per barrel. A new well was torpedoed, releasing oil and mud as workers carefully remove debris and fracking materials. The piece explains torpedo use, dangers, and the heavy derricks and bull-wheel cable systems powering the sand-pump operations.
