The Town Cow Discussed in Rural Village Tale
The narrator lampoons the town cow as a nuisance and necessity in rural life. Country folk haul hay into town for warmth and seating, only to watch cows steal the forage, chew it, and glare at the farmer leaving for the saloon. The piece blends humor with a village portrait of cows, hay, and social life.
